I’m trying to do a lot of listening lately and as a result I’ve been slow to post on social media about the turmoil befalling our communities but silence is often an implicit endorsement of oppression so just to be clear on this: George Floyd (and so many countless others) deserve justice, riots are the language of the unheard and all lives don’t matter until black lives matter too. Respect for human life and dignity shouldn’t be a controversial (or even a laudable) position to take. Thank you to those risking life and limb to document the atrocities occurring and to fighting injustice and oppression, you’re truly heroes.
